To dedicate the day to Lord Krishna and to celebrate his birthday in the right way, on August 19, 2022 our kids celebrated this day with great enthusiasm in Pathshala. In all three pathshala, many of our kids became Radha and Krishna and community people gather to see this festival celebration in our pathshala. Dance, poem reciting and local focal geet were sung during the celebration. After this, matki phod competition were organised in pathshala. Kheer , panjeri and banana were distributed to the kids after the event to the kids and villagers.

Our teacher, usually we called bhaiya didi by the loved kids tell them importance of this day. Krishna Janmashtami is one of the most prominent festivals. It is the day when Lord Krishna was born and therefore it is considered to be amongst the most auspicious days. It is celebrated across the world by Krishna Bhakts and is observed on Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in Bhadrapad month. This year, Krishna Janmashtami 2022 will be celebrated on August 19, 2022. It is believed that on this day, Lord Vishnu, who is the preserver or sustainer of life, incarnated on Earth as Lord Krishna to fight evil. Lord Krishna is considered as the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Lord Krishna was born around 5,200 years ago in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, which is also referred to as Dwapar Yuga. He is considered as the most powerful human incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The Puja ritual takes place at midnight as Lord Krishna was born at midnight in a jail where his mother and father were locked by his uncle King Kansa.

The parents of Lord Krishna, Devaki and Vasudeva were thrown into prison by Mathura’s cruel king Kansa. On the day of Devaki’s marriage (Kansa’s sister), it was prophesied that her eighth son would kill Kansa. Following this incident, Kansa threw both his sister and brother-in-law into the prison and one by one, killed all their sons until Krishna was born. The night Lord Krishna was born, a divine voice instructed Vasudeva to carry the baby to Vrindavan to protect him from Kansa’s attack. This event ended with didi bhaiya next time will celebrate this festival with more zeal and enthusiasm.

  1. Art – It’s never too soon to introduce kids to the possibilities of creative expression. We organise camp for kids to learn and make rural art creation. Our aim is to give their art a platform. Students in our Pathshala though belongs to weaker section but they have a very good ability of art. They make different good sculptures of clay, just need to give them a good platform and other necessary art material. In Palan Pathshala, we are developing and shaping their art abilities.

Anyone who’s passionate about the arts recalls formative moments of experiencing a work of art pushing through a creative challenge. When we’re exposed to remarkable artworks or have opportunities to create, we find that art is crucial to individual growth and development and can even impact our health. Art is good the kids in many ways. In our villagers, kids generally making many art creations and some are going from decades. But this limited to their house. Not any recognition or formal name or platform is available to them. In pathshala , we are trying to make available them materials or things required for making finished product of their rural art creation.  While a child needs to learn science, maths and reading, art is also key to their development. At home, it’s a great time to connect with your child and encourage their creativity.

In pathshala, it’s a way for them to communicate and build confidence. This may seem like a no-brainer, but the arts allow kids to express themselves better than math or science. This may seem like a no-brainer, but the arts allow kids to express themselves better than math or science. While mastering a subject certainly builds a student’s confidence, there is something special about participating in the arts. Getting up on a stage and singing gives kids a chance to step outside their comfort zone. As they improve and see their own progress, their self-confidence will continue to grow. The arts strengthen problem solving and critical thinking skills. How do I express this feeling through my dance? How should I play this character? Learning how to make choices and decisions will certainly carry over into their education and other parts of life—as this is certainly a valuable skill in adulthood.
